Cambelts

What is a cambelt?
The cambelt (also known as a timing belt) is one of the most important parts of your car engine. It is designed to keep both halves of the engine in sync with one another.

How often should I change my cambelt?
This varies depending on your vehicle, but most manufacturers recommend a cambelt change roughly every 5 years or every 40,000 to 60,000 miles. If you don’t replace your cambelt at the recommended manufacturer intervals, you can run the risk of causing severe engine damage as the cambelt can snap which causes expensive and serious damage if you have an interference-type engine.
